How to Use Facebook Retargeting Ads to Re-engage with Your Audience

It’s almost impossible to convert an order from a new visitor, especially if your marketing is highly competitive. Visitors would browse on different sites before they make a decision, but if they don’t need the product in urgent, after a period of time, they might forget your brand and never visit you again. 

To prevent this tragedy, as a business owner, you should set various channels to remind these potential buyers to come back to your site. To achieve this, remarketing ads are a great way to re-engage with them.

Is there any site that people visit often and spend a lot of time on? Facebook is probably on the top of the list, we spend a lot of time on it every day to browse and share posts if you can place your online store on Facebook and appear constantly to remind your customers, there’s a greater chance for you to secure converts.

What are retargeting ads?

Retargeting ad is a tool that allows you to bring back website visitors who haven’t converted on their first visit, and the cookies let you track and follow your store’s visitors when they visit other sites displays ads  to these people. 

The objective of remarketing ad is to let your brand show up frequently in your visitors’ screen, and remind them you’re still here. 

Why should you deliver retargeting ads?

People who visited your site must have some degree of interest in your product or service, but due to some reasons, they did not place an order right away. The purpose of retargeting ad is to bring them back to you, and give you a chance to impress them again! With retargeting ads, you can improve in conversion rate and lower the customer acquisition cost. 

How to Set Up Facebook Retargeting Ads?

Before you start setting up the retargeting ads, make sure you have installed Facebook pixel, the code allows you to set up events to measure the actions you care about, like making a purchase, or generating a lead and what not. Having Facebook pixel installed is also important for future remarketing or audience segmentation purpose.

Step 1. Log in to your facebook account and go to “Manage Ads”

Step 2. Go to “Settings” and click on “Audience” under assets

Step 3. Then create “Custom Audience”

Step 4. Choose “Website Traffic”

Step 5. We recommend you to retarget “All website visitors.”

And if you target more days of past visitors, you’ll get a larger pool of audience to perform retargeting. Once you type in the name for your custom audience and click on create an audience, you have successfully created a custom audience.  

After you created a new custom audience, you can start a new campaign and in the audience section, choose the one you just set up, and your new remarketing ads should be up and running. To make your remarketing ads fresh and constantly interesting to your audience, the best way is to create many different ads that are distinct from one another.
